A long summer break is awaiting your child, and boy are they so excited to have some time off school. But sometimes they miss out on the beauties of summer by spending their time inside watching TV or playing on their electronics. But that does not mean they have to be. They can come join us at Park Play for summer camp. Children will be active physically and socially with all our handcrafted activities and programming. We have crafts, games, activities and weekly outings. Do you want your children to enjoy and have a unique and amazing summer vacation? Program Details
Our Summer Camps 2024
Summer Camps run from 7:00am to 6:00pm, and are designed for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
At the Camp your child will enjoy periods of structured learning and exploration as well as times of unstructured play and exploration. Your child will have the opportunity to make new friends, build lasting memories, and have a ton of fun!
We provide a nutritious Breakfast and snacks each day; all of which are nut free. Please provide a bagged lunch for all days.
July 2 - 5, 2024: Welcome to the World of Water!
Summer has arrived and what a better way to welcome the summer sunshine than with WATER PLAY! Our campers will have an opportunity to create unique artwork using water balloons as their paintbrushes. Kids will get a chance to cool off and have a blast while playing at the Spray pad or having a friendly battle using soaking wet sponges. An outing is scheduled for this week, but the location has yet to be determined. Rest assured, there will be plenty of other water-based activities to ensure a week filled with water fun!
July 8 – 12, 2024: STEM
During STEM week we will offer campers a dynamic and enriching experience, fostering a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a fun and interactive way. We will learn about the principles of physics and engineering while creating a cotton ball launcher. Our little scientist will get a chance to conduct their own science experiments while growing amazing crystals! To further enhance the STEM experience, the camp with also feature a visit from Bricks4Kidz, a program that combines LEGO bricks and engineering concepts to engage kids in hands-on building activities.
July 15 – 19, 2024: Animal Planet!
This camp offers a fun and educational experience, allowing kids to explore the animal kingdom, develop a deep understanding of different species, and foster a sense of respect for the natural world. Kids will learn the importance of providing food and shelter for our bird populations while using recycled resources to make their own bird feeder. Park Play has also organized a trip to a local farm where kids can interact with different animals. We will also feature a visit from some local reptilian friends, where kids will have the chance to observe and learn about reptiles up close.
July 22 – 26, 2024: Wizard School
Inspired by the world of Harry Potter, campers will have the opportunity to get sorted into their very own Hogwarts house, creating a sense of belonging and camaraderie. They will also have the chance to unleash their creativity by making their own personalized wands, give their taste buds a chance to sample the famous Butter Beer (kid friendly). To test their problem-solving abilities and foster teamwork, we have prepared an enchanting escape room experience. As a grand finale to our Wizarding week, we will conclude with a special screening of the beloved film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone. This week promises an enchanting and unforgettable experience for all, by bringing the world of wizards and witches to life in a fun and engaging way.
July 29 – Aug 2, 2024: Olympics
Inspired by the spirit of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, campers will have the opportunity to engage in Park Play’s very own Olympic games, featuring a variety of thrilling activities. In a spirit friendly competition, they will engage in classic games like tug of war, where teamwork and strategy will be key to victory. Campers will also experience the thrill of water balloon volleyball, combining fun water play with the excitement of a team sport. As a symbol of achievement, campers will have the opportunity to earn a medal for their participation and success in the various Olympics games.
Aug 6 – 9, 2024: Culinary Kids
This week will provide a unique and interactive opportunity for children to develop their culinary skills, foster their creativity, and gain confidence in the kitchen. Campers will don their very own chefs’ hat and dive into a world of baking, creating delicious treats such as muffins, kebabs, smoothies; as well as exploring food as a medium for artistic expression. As a highlight of the week, our bakers will have the chance to prepare a lunch of their choice for the campers. This hands-on experience will allow them to take charge of the kitchen, make decisions, and collaborate with their peers to create a memorable meal for everyone to enjoy.
Aug 12 – 16, 2024: Superhero
During superhero week we promise an action-packed and imaginative experience, empowering campers to embrace their inner superheroes and learn valuable lessons about teamwork, creativity, and the power of doing good. To embrace their superhero identities, they will get to unleash their creativity by making their own superhero masks. This activity allows them to design and personalize their masks, adding a unique touch to their superhero personas. An outing is scheduled for this week, but the location has yet to be determined. To add an element of excitement and adventure the campers get the opportunity to participate in a Kryptonite balloon fight, where they can test their agility and strategy while dodging and throwing balloons.
Aug 19 – 23, 2024: Artful Antics
Inspired by all things ART, this week promises a vibrant and artistic experience, encouraging self-expression, fostering creativity, and providing campers with a range of artistic skills to explore and develop. A guest artist will guide our campers in creating their own unique paintings, allowing them to express their creativity on canvas. To further inspire their artistic senses, campers will embark on a photography adventure in Wascana Park, capturing the beauty of nature and the surrounding environment. They will also enjoy a picnic in the park, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for creativity to flourish.
Aug 26 – 30, 2024: Wild West
This week our campers will have a unique experience engaging in various activities that embrace the spirit of the Wild West. Our camp will offer a unique craft activity where campers will create a customized craft using real leather as the medium. One of the highlights of this week is the thrilling game of Gold Rush as well as Horseshoes, promoting teamwork, problem solving, and strategic thinking. To further enhance the Wild West experience, we have planned a trip to a local farm. Campers will be given the opportunity to interact with farm animals, gain a deeper understanding of rural life and enjoy some delicious cowboy-inspired treats.
Our Site
Our site is located at our Evergreen Campus located at 6839 Rochdale Ave in North West Regina. We are a short walk to Centennial School for outdoor sports and the Northwest leisure centre for Spray pad and other activities. Our space has a dedicated play area in our Gym, craft areas, and other play areas for quieter activities. We have air-conditioning for the warmer days and heating for those colder days. We will be having special outings that will take your children to various locations in and around the city.
Lunch & Snacks
Due to the potential of serious allergies, Park Play Community Programs respectfully ask that parents and guardians do not send nut products to Summer Camp. Our weekly camps will provide Breakfast and an afternoon snack. Please ensure you send a nutritious lunch everyday your child attends.
Personal Belongings
Personal belongings can easily be misplaced, as such, please refrain from sending the following to summer camp with your child(ren):
- Toys from home
- Sports/Pokémon Cards
- Electronics (tablets, gaming systems, phones, etc.)
- Money/valuable
Our Staff
Our staff participate in extensive training and are CPR/First Aid certified. Staff members are also required to submit a current Criminal Record Check. Your child will be in great hands!
